John Denver’s Thank God I’m a country boy
Time flies when you’re having fun. And so it’s Sunday again, which means that I’ve got a new song recording for you. Because I wanted an energetic song this time, I chose a song that I’ve been playing since 1984. And I’ve played it hundreds of times on many occasions.
When I still performed live at bars, festivals and parties, this song usually was my very last one, and audiences from all over the world have always loved it.
One occasion where I played it was at the wedding of friends, back in 1993. They have been divorced for years already, but I assume me singing on their wedding isn’t to blame for that 😉 . The last couple of days I’ve been busy with my video archive, and I found video material of that particular wedding.
And guess what? I also found a recording of me singing Thank God I’m a country boy there!
So today I’ll be giving you two recordings of the same song. That old one from 1993, with an enthusiastic audience and a much younger, and much more shy Tabby, and one that we’ve recorded recently in 2020.
Let’s start with the 2020 version…
So here’s this week’s new recording, with yours truly, who has since 1993 gained more age, wisdom and… weight LOL!
Next up: Tabby singing ‘Thank God’ in 1993
Well, did you like this week’s choice? Let me know in the comments! And I’d like to hear from you if you would want to see more of such old material.

See you next week, for a new Single Song Recording!
